Better things happen when we come together.
Make room for everyone. Baraza is four small, carefully made tools for workshops, town halls, talks and classrooms. They help people join in, think together and share, with less fuss along the way.
The collection
Different tools. Better moments together.
Every gathering has its own rhythm. Each tool looks after one part of it. Use one on its own, or several in the same session.
- Listening
- Speaking
- Thinking
- Deciding
- Sharing
-
svoltra
For the conversation itself.
Make space for better conversations.
Short, structured activities that help a group think, talk and decide together. People think alone, pair up, then share with everyone. For workshops, retrospectives and decisions. Judgement stays with the facilitator.
-
suara
For hearing the whole room.
Give every voice a way in.
Live polls and Q&A for town halls, talks and panels. People join on their phones with a code, then answer, ask and vote. The best contribution isn't always the loudest one, and suara lets the room hear all of them.
-
sebito
For the moments in between.
Keep the good things flowing.
Small helpers on one projected stage: timers, cues, pickers, groups and quick reads of the room. A well-timed nudge or a fair way to pick someone, so there's less fiddling and more time for what matters.
-
senda
For whoever presents next.
Share the stage, without the fuss.
Presenters take turns on the room's screen, from the room or from anywhere. Each joins with a one-time code and shares a screen, window or tab from their own browser. Nothing to install, and no file changes hands.
The name
A place to gather. A space to belong.
baraza
A Swahili word with two meanings that belong together. A baraza is the veranda or stone bench at the front of a house, where people sit and receive visitors. It's also a council: a meeting where people talk things through and decide.
So a baraza is both a place and a possibility. A place where people come together, and a chance for something worthwhile to happen once they do.
The mark is a circle left open at one side, with the gold dot stepping into the gap. There's always room for one more.
Our philosophy
Less friction. More connection.
A conversation can spark an idea. A question can change someone's mind. But good gatherings don't always happen by themselves. The loudest voices take over, good ideas get lost, and the technology meant to help becomes one more thing to manage.
Technology should make it easier for people to connect, not give them more to manage.
- Structure where it helps.
Enough shape that everyone knows what happens next, and no more.
- Simplicity where it's needed.
No accounts for people taking part, and nothing to install.
- A little delight wherever possible.
Warmth and play in the details, so the tools support the people rather than upstage them.
What we believe
Designed for people, not just productivity.
A good gathering isn't measured only by how much gets done. It's also about how the time together feels. Four ideas guide how we build Baraza.
- Everyone deserves a voice.
Being there isn't the same as taking part. Our tools make room for more perspectives, including the quiet ones.
- Good gatherings have a rhythm.
Structure and spontaneity, momentum and reflection. Our tools keep the beat without adding complexity.
- Technology should know its place.
A good tool makes the job easier. A great one lets you forget it's there.
- A little delight goes a long way.
Useful doesn't have to mean plain. Small moments of warmth make shared time more memorable.
Who it's for
For anyone who brings people together.
Baraza is for the people who make gatherings happen, and for everyone who takes part in them.
- Facilitators
Making space for productive conversations.
- Educators
Encouraging curiosity and participation in class.
- Teams
Finding better ways to collaborate, reflect and decide.
- Presenters and organisers
Wanting the event to flow a little more naturally.
Five people around a table or five hundred in a hall, the aim is the same: make it easier to take part, and make the time together count.
Make room for what matters.
- More perspectives to discover.
- More conversations worth having.
- A little less friction in the way.
